Paella
Ingredients
- ½ lb (225 g) mild Italian or Portuguese sausage meat
- 4 skinless boneless chicken thighs, diced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup (250 mL) Sesame-Ginger broth
- 2 cups (500 mL) The Original® Broth
- 1 can (796 mL) diced tomatoes in their juice
- 1 cup (250 mL) long-grain white rice
- Salt and fresh ground pepper
- ½ lb (225 g) 21/40 shrimp, cooked and shelled
- 1 cup (250 mL) frozen green peas, thawed
- 1 cup (250 mL) frozen corn kernels
- Cilantro, to taste
Directions
1. In a skillet, cook sausage meat, chicken and curry sauce for 5 minutes. Transfer into crockpot.
2. Using the same skillet, brown onion for 2 minutes and pour into crockpot.
3. Add both Canton Broths, diced tomatoes, rice, salt and pepper, mixing well.
4. Cover and cook on High for 4 hours or until rice is tender and chicken well cooked.
5. 30 minutes before the end of cooking, mix in peas, corn and shrimp, then finish cooking.
6. Sprinkle with cilantro before serving.
